1st Annual Fishing Tournament

Toyota of Nashua and New Hampshire Bass Federation Nation  sponsored it's 1st annual fishing tournament on June  17th.  Over 30 enthusiasts participated in the event. A great time was had by all.

This tournament was held in conjunction with Toyota of Nashua with all proceeds going to The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua, "The Positive place for kids". (www.bgcn.com). The morning started off with lots of energy & excitement from anxious anglers for the 1st Annual City Fishing Tournament on Father’s Day to begin. The shore division fished from the Mill Pond & canal area while the boaters blasted off at 9am up in the main river. The shore anglers weighted in their catch throughout the day. Most of our shore anglers got their pictures taken to capture the day’s events. You could hear throughout the day in the Mill Pond area little kids saying, “I caught a fish, I caught a fish!” We had anglers from 4 years old to 80, sons & fathers, moms with little ones in tow, entire families. The Boys & Girls Club had 6 kids fishing the tournament. The weather was awesome and the rain, wind and clouds held off till much later in the day (and it only rained for 15 minutes). I guess Mother Nature was looking out for all our anglers. There were trophies awarded to all the shore anglers in all categories while the top 3 from the boaters division cashed checks (courtesy of Toyota of Nashua). Congratulations to all the winners. All registers participants received a hat or T-shirt from Toyota of Nashua. Toyota raffled off some great prizes. Congratulations to the winners of the raffle. - Huge Gas grill (Donated by Ill Iguana) - 2 binoculars - Bass Pro Shops bait caster - 2 Rods Our Conservation Officer Hope Eagleson conducted weed/milfoil checks from boats being trailered at the end of the tournament. All fish that were caught were released alive. A Casting Kids Contest was hosted by the New Hampshire Hawg Hunters from 11:30-2:00. We had a 6 kid team fishing from the Nashua Boys and Girls Club. It was such an honor for our Federation to be involved in such an awesome event for a really good cause. Some of the best times I ever had fishing was back when I was kid fishing with my dad. What a great way to spend the day with those special dads & family out in nature on the water fishing. The Board of Directors would like to thank Bob Draper & Jim Burrows and all the Toyota of Nashua staff for hosting a great tournament. We look forward to next year’s tournament.
